The course is built upon developing a solid foundation of general computing and forensic investigation skills at each level of the course, allowing students to study the practical problems associated with detection and investigation.

The Department of Computing offers this course working with the Department of Crime and Policing Studies. Additional input is provided in the form of master-classes from industry professionals; bringing a practical experience to the theory considered and the skill sets developed.

在学习过程中学生需要独立完成一份法鉴计算机研究报告,或者研究开发出一份计算机软件来帮助法律鉴定。这门学科不仅包括了计算机专业，同时涵盖了相关法律及鉴定研究的课程内容。为将来就业打下良好的基础，学习过程也很有意义和挑战性。

入学要求1 预科申请者：无需专业背景要求，雅思5.0分即可申请。时间1年，之后入读本科课程。适合于高三毕业学生。

2 本科申请者：雅思要求6.0分。5.5分的申请者会获得2周时间免费语言培训，之后入读本科课程。申请者须在大学学习至少1年计算机专业。

3硕士申请者：雅思要求6.5分。6.0分的申请者会获得1个月免费语言培训，之后入读硕士课程。申请者须有专业背景。
